| The start of our activities in the beginning of 2004 was prompted by an idea to help the Medical and child-care orphanage in Pernik, which has 60 children under the age of 6 in its care. We collected clothes, toys and shoes left from our own children. We also bought nappies, baby food and cosmetics. All of these were donated to the orphanage. We have visited this institution several times since then. Donations are made by volunteer-mothers each time we go there. |
Gradually, we established contact with several orphanages in Bulgaria. Donations were made by mothers from all around Bulgaria. We could see that when we unite together, we could help the children who lack parental care. A lot of children were made happy thanks to the mothers' big hearts and this happiness was our moral prize.
All the mothers who support the foundation are volunteers.
So far we have visited the orphanages in Pernik, Kustendil, Velingrad, Pazardjik, s. Lesichovo, and the schools for hearing and visual impairment in Sofia. Our numerous campaigns proved that with close co-operation with the orphanages, we could help improve the living conditions in them and bring happiness to the children living there. One of our objectives is to create a mothers' network in cities around Bulgaria, to visit as many orphanages as possible and to continue collecting donations in the form of clothes, toys, shoes, nappies, cosmetics and food - a standard for us, but a luxury for the children living in these institutions. |
